Lorenzo Thione
Director
Lorenzo serves on the board of Reason to Party and is the entrepreneurial connection. Having run startup organizations and nonprofits, he brings seasoned knowledge to the table- something that a young, exciting, and dynamic nonprofit like Reason to Party benefits from.
Lorenzo is an active entrepreneur and investor—co-founding Powerset in 2005 (acquired by Microsoft Corp.) and advising on numerous startups including Crowdflower, The Daily Hookup, Restopolis, and Searcheeze. He is also a proud founding board member of StartOut, a non-profit dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship within the LGBT community. In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Lorenzo is a theater producer. His credits include Catch Me If You Can (Tony-Nominated, Best Musical 2011) and Green Day’s American Idiot.
Lorenzo is proud to be a member of the RTP team. He truly believes it builds a strong connection between the community and all the deserving causes in the area. Its organizations like RTP that make an area like San Francisco as great, rich, and diverse as it is.
Lorenzo is most proud of throwing some of the most successful and well-attended parties in RTP’s history, which have raised thousands of dollars for charity.
His silliest party moment was posing with antlers on and standing next to Ari and a reindeer.
