Emily was raised in Sacramento, but had to leave in order to discover how much she loves her native city. She studied opera in Santa Cruz, worked as a chef on a tugboat in Maine, spent a year in a tiny town in Argentina, and then moved to eastern Canada to attend Mount Allison University, a small liberal arts college in New Brunswick.

In 2006, Emily graduated with highest honors and a B.A. in Environmental Studies. Soon after moving home to Sacramento, she began training in nonprofit management and fundraising.

Emily is the Executive Director of Sacramento Splash, a rising nonprofit that helps urban children step off the pavement to learn and play in nature. She loves working with passionate people to build Splash into a solid nonprofit with a clear mission, strong leadership, and sustainable funding.

Emily is equally excited about bringing Reason to Party to Sacramento. She enjoys a good cocktail, has been known to go wild on the dance floor, and loves hosting phenomenal parties to benefit good causes. The best part is meeting all the fun, young professionals who show up!
